Home Bound, But Stuck in Nashville

Oh my goodness. I am stuck here in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. It’s certainly a nice place, but I’d much prefer to be at home with my family in Virginia who are stuck in the house with 30 inches of snow outside the windows. I had so hoped to get home today, but it just was not in the cards for me.

I was here for the annual BlissDom Conference for mom bloggers. It was a great event. I learned a lot and the opportunity to meet up with a lot of fantastic mom bloggers, including:

  • Marcy at Stretching a Buck. Marcy is awesome. We are the same person, so if you like me, you’ll like her. She’s having her second baby in about 10 weeks and I can’t be more excited for her.
  • Andrea at Mommy Snacks. I’ve been reading Mommy Snacks since I started to blog two years ago. She was one of the first bloggers I reached out to for tips and advice. She’s true, fun and a big deal, if you know what I mean (she’ll know what I mean). She is also one of the organizers of the fabulous Savvy Blogging dinner that was held here in Nashville on Friday night.
  • Cherie at Queen of Free. I’d never read this blog before, but loved spending time with her, especially after my flight this morning got cancelled and I learned I could not get a flight out until tomorrow.
  • Mercedes at Common Sense with Money. Mercedes brought baby Tali with her, and I had many opportunities to hold this sweet three-month-old!
  • Erin at $5 Dinners. I know many of you know Erin’s book, The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook, but she is as true and down-to-earth as they come. She had baby Tyler with her, and yet she was still so relaxed. I loved listening to her speak on a panel on how to get published.
  • Briana at Bargain Briana. This girl is always a favorite of mine. If you haven’t yet done so, I hope you’ll check out her Frugal Map to find (or suggest) a local frugal blogger close to you.
  • Christy at Southern Plate. I don’t read too many food blogs (though I know I should), but Christy is fantastic and I am so excited about her cookbook that is coming out this summer!
  • Katie at Domestic Debacle. This girl is so adorable and completely fun. I’m definitely becoming a reader of her blog!

Oh, the list does go on and on. I also met the mom bloggers behind Coupon Gal, Cha-Ching on a Shoestring, Coupon Geek, 918 Coupon Queen, JANE4girls $800 Annual Budget, Money Saving Mom, Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures and so many  more for the first time.

It was a great conference, but I’m definitely look forward to getting back into the swing of things, once I can get home of course!
